Jubilation in court as tribunal upholds election of Kayode Fayemi as Ekiti Governor
Ekiti State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Monday upheld the election of Kayode Fayemi as Governor of Ekiti State.
Fayemi contested the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his victory was challenged by Olusola Eleka of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Eleka had filed a petition against him, alleging series of election irregularities and malpractices.
The Ekiti State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja unanimously struck out Eleka’s case and ruled that Fayemi is the duly elected Governor of the state.
