Senators storm court as FG arraign Dino Melaye for false information on assassination

Some Senators and protesters on Thursday stormed the High Court premises in Abuja on Thursday to solidarise with the senator representing Kogi West, Kogi State, Dino Melaye, who was arraigned by the Federal Government.

Melaye was arraigned by the Federal Government for alleged false information that the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Edward David, planned to assassinate him.

Melaye’s information to the police that Edward had planned to assassinate him was said to be false, hence the arraignment.

Melaye however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Some senators, including Ben Murray-Bruce, who represents Bayelsa East, Bayelsa State, were in the court to show solidarity.
