PDP re-appoints Walid Jibrin Chairman, BoT, nominates Wabara, Ag Secretary

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has re-appointed Walid Jibrin as Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT) for the next five years.

The party has also appointed former Senator President, Adolphus Wabara as its Acting Secretary.

Jibrin disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday September 6 while addressing newsmen at the party’s secretariat.

The party has however expanded members of its Board of Trustees (BoT)

The BoT is being expanded as preparations by political parties in the country heigthens for 2019 general election.

Jibrin said: “We have accommodated the recommendation for our constitution, that is one member for each state of the federation and federal capital will be accommodated in the BoT. We have agreed on that to approve the number.

“Many have left. Some of them were statutory members there permanently, while others are tenure. We are not going to retire anybody among the statutory members that have left, and they cannot be replaced by anybody who is not a statutory members.”

He listed the statutory members as the former presidents of Nigeria, Senate President, National Chairman. “They are many, you can’t replace them,” he said.
