Olisa Metuh: Senior Advocates allege threat to life, seek to withdraw from trial

Two Senior counsels in the ongoing criminal trial of a former spokesman of the People’s Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, Emeka Etiaba (SAN) and Onyinyechi Ikpeazu have sought to withdraw their legal representation from the case.

This was made known in an application which was written by both counsels and brought before the Federal High Court Abuja on Tuesday, February 5, 2018.

The counsels are seeking to withdraw from the case on grounds that they “have been immense pressure with respect to their appearance in the case, including severe threat to their lives”. They also complained about the order of the court for a day-to-day hearing of the case which they said has affected other schedules.
