NYSC: Ex-corps members to empower 20,000 youths in IDP camps across Nigeria
The National Association of President’s NYSC Honours Awardees made known its plan to give skills acquisition training and empowerment to 20,000 youths from various Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps across the country.
This was contained in a speech delivered by the president of the association, Simeon Oladele during a press briefing in Abuja on October 28, 2016.
The statement reads, “In line with the government commitment to diversify the economy and reduce youth dependence on non-existing white collar jobs, the association is also organizing skills acquisition training and empowerment for (20,000) youths in partnership with National Directorate on Employment.”
“The first phase of the training is expected to kick off on Wednesday, 9th November, 2016 with the training of internally displaced persons in Wassa Camp, FCT Abuja.”
The association urge Nigerians to pay more attention on discussing positive ideas and carry out activities that can move the nation forward from its current challenges rather than focusing on discussions that can tear the country apart, reinstating the fact that Nigeria’s problems are temporary and will vanish someday through concerted efforts.
