Nigerian Government begs NASS to enact bill to clear local debt
The Nigeria Government seeks clear its inherited local debts through the creation of Promisory Note and Bond Issue Programme.
To this effect, President Muhammadu Buhari has written the leadership of the Nigerian Senate to pass a bill to help achieve the dream.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read the message at Red Chambers on Wednesday March 28.
When created, the programme will help to clear longstanding obligations inherited by the Buhari’s administration.
Part of the inherited debts, according to the executive, include unpaid obligations to pensioners, salaries, promotions arrears of civil servants, petroleum marketers, contractors, among others.
