Nigeria to resuscitate moribund Lagos Vaccine Production Centre
Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has disclosed government’s plan to revive Yaba vaccine production centre.
The minister while briefing State House correspondents after Wednesdays Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting said the centre was shutdown for upgrade over 25-year ago.
The Yaba Vaccine Production Centre was a major centre for vaccine production for Nigeria and West Africa. Established in 1940, the centre exports Smallpox and Yellow Fever vaccines to some west African countries.
Adewole said the memo to resuscitate the centre will soon be presented to FEC.
