Immigration Recruitment Scam: Ex-Minister Abba Moro’s trial adjourned till tomorrow
The trial of former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, and three others at the Federal High Court, Abuja was earlier today adjourned till tomorrow 30th September, 2016 for continuation of trial.
The reason for the adjournment is to enable the counsels have cross-examination of the first prosecution witness report.
The duos are standing trial for the botched Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment exercise in March, 2014 where about 16 persons were confirmed dead and several others injured.
The first prosecution witness, David Paradang who was the then Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, told the court that he as the head of the service heard about the recruitment exercise after the advert and voiced his displeasure to the minister through protest letter dated 9th September, 2013.
In spite of which, the minister went ahead to conduct the poorly organized exercise in which about 678,678 people where jam-packed in overcrowded stadium across the country, which lead to the unfortunate fatality.
