Herdsmen Attack: Benue stands still as 73 victims are buried
Following the New Year day attack by suspected herdsmen in Benue state, mass burial was conducted for victims by the state government.
Thousands of mourners, including relatives, bid their loved ones farewell during the burial.
The mourners, who alleged genocide by the herdsmen, were led by the state governor, Samuel Ortom.
Men suspected to be Fulani cattle herders attacked the communities on Monday, January 1st, and killed 73 persons.
Governor Ortom, top government officials, Tivs and Idoma traditional rulers were in attendance.
