Borno Governor, Kashim Shettima apologises to civil servants over unpaid salaries
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has apologised to the workers in his state over government’s inability to pay them their June salary before Eid-Fitri celebration.
Governor Shettima who said he in his Sallah message that he felt the pain that some families went through, and that for the past six years salaries had been paid before any festival, added, “The salary of June 2017 was to be paid last Friday but due to technical problems we had we could pay only pensioners, BOSEPA and Civilian JTF which was done by table payment. I therefore apologize to workers and I assure you the salary will be paid latest Wednesday this week. I am truly sorry.”
