Alleged False Info: Melaye arraigned, granted N100,000 bail

The senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye, was on Thursday, arraigned by the Federal government before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on two counts of giving false information about an assassination attempt on his life to the police in April 2017.
The senator was accused of deliberately giving false information to the police to frame Edward David Onoja, chief of staff of Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, for an attempted murder on his life.
The Senator pleaded not guilty to both counts filed against him.
His lawyer Rickey Tarfa (SAN), in his application, asked the court to grant the senator bail
The judge granted the bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with one surety.
Meanwhile over a dozen senators and protesters in hundreds stormed the court to show support to the Senator who is a member of All Progressive Congress.
