48th ECOWAS Summit: Buhari, UN, others say insecurity deterrent to Region’s Development
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has said that in spite of significant achievements of the ECOWAS, in the promotion of democracy via peaceful government transitions, insecurity in the form of arms and drug trafficking and terrorism militate against integration and political stability in the region.
He made this statement at the 48th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government (HOSG) which opened on Tuesday, December 16, 2015 in Abuja.
