2016 Budget Debate: Nigerian gov’t needs a strong economic team says Senator Philip Aduda
Senators have commenced debate on the 2016 appropriation bill proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The debate kicked-off at the plenary after the adoption of the President’s request to amend the budget.
Senate Minority Whip, Philip Aduda argued that: “Something needs to be done. Enough of these rhetoric. Let us put party sentiments aside. The government should put up a strong economic team to come with what we should do. The price of crude oil has fallen to $27 per barrel. Iran has joined the international market and that is not good for our country. PDP should not be blamed for the dwindling price of crude oil.”
